We often get some people who don’t know what they’re looking for, and turn to us to recommend something. These recommendations are usually based off of what we are currently using, and things we have used in the past. All in all, gatherings from our own personal experiences.
With the amount of vapes in this industry, and with how many new ones come out on pretty much a weekly basis, it can be a little tough to make a decision on which one is for you. So to save you some time, we’ve complied a short list of our personal favourites. We included some starter kits, but also some intermediate devices as well. We’ve made sure to keep it to things we’re still carrying (some of us have been around for quite some time), that way if you see something that peaks your interest, you’ll be able to make it your own! Just simply click on the device name and it will take you straight to the product page.
Lets get started.
The Joyetech eGo AIO. There’s not much to be said about this one. As a starter kit, its one of the best we’ve ever seen. Simple, easy to use, pretty much the epitome of plug and play for vapes. With how ever-changing our industry is, we don’t usually stock one thing for very long. We prolong it as much as we can, but as things become available the old is often replaced by the new. As for the eGo AIO, we have been carrying this for a solid two years continuously. We cant even estimate how many of these units we’ve sold because we honestly have no idea. People seem to love them, and we love how easy they are for our customers. Everyone’s happy.
The past year for sub ohm tanks has been pretty crazy. With the introduction of the Mesh Coil we’ve seen a large increase in the amount of people using them. For those of you who don’t know what mesh coils are, they’re pretty much exactly what the name entails. Instead of a nichrome wire wrapped around the inside of the cotton in your coil, it is a strip of (usually kanthal) mesh wire. Covering more surface area on the inside of the coil, resulting in a cleaner feeling hit and flavour like you’ve never experienced. Now the Crown 4 sets the bar for modern day sub ohm tank expectations. It brings together all the innovation of 2018 tanks, with UWell’s own little touch. UWell is known for manufacturing some outstanding gear, but they’ve always been most famous for their tanks. The Crown 4 is a perfect example of why. Easy top fill method, extremely easy coil changing, and just the overall build quality of the tank is impeccable. UWell also introduced something a little different with the Crown 4, the use of 904SSL in their coils. The highest grade of stainless steel available to avoid rapid deterioration and in turn, increase the life of your coils. To bring it all together UWell has finally released the UN2 Mesh Coil for the Crown 4.
That’s pretty much all there is to be said about the Crown 4 Tank. Its just good. Plain and simple.
The Geekvape Aegis Legend. A straight up dual battery 200W mod. Believe it or not we’re actually having a hard time finding new dual battery devices. Over this past year they’ve seen a substantial decrease in popularity due to the rising trend of pod systems and salt nic. The Aegis Legend is a top ten of all time for us though. Even if there was a new dual battery device coming out weekly, this would still be stocked on our shelves 24/7. Like i said, just a straight up dual battery 200W device. Made from military grade material, so its definitely a durable one. Waterproof, shockproof, dustproof. Life proof I guess you could say. The whole Aegis line was meant for people who are just a little clumsy… If you keep breaking devices you might want to take a look into this one, I promise it will be the last vape you ever buy. Out of the hundreds of these we’ve sold, I don’t believe we’ve had a single one come back. To us, that speaks volumes.
Smok is one of the most known names in the industry and honestly we don’t really know why. Not to say they’re bad, but its not like they’re doing anything extraordinary. If anything, its because of the rate they put out new products. At one point, Smok was putting out two new devices a week… that’s just overkill. When you’re pumping out products at that rate, they tend to seem a little rushed and often had a higher chance of having issues. Lately, Smok has dialed it back a bit. Focusing more on quality over quantity. The Novo was their first real quality product in quite some time. We were extremely hesitant at first because of the history we have with Smok products, but we were pleasantly surprised when we first got our hands on this little pod system. Extremely easy to use, another “plug & play” vape. No button, no screen, simply insert the pod and take a draw. The Novo runs on what we call Auto Draw, meaning that there is no button to press while using the device. It simply runs on a sensor that sense when you are taking a draw off the device. Hence the name, Auto Draw. The Novo is the perfect, inexpensive device that allows a current smoker to give vaping a try. No headaches of a complicated device, and kind to the wallet as well.
The iStick 40W is probably one of, if not the, oldest device that we still sell continuously. We still do restocks of it at least once a month, and its actually got to the point where we’re having a hard time finding it. That hasn’t seemed to stop us though. We still constantly have it stocked. The iStick 40W is a low power internal battery device. Charged with a simple micro USB, and a max output of 40W, the iStick pairs nicely with a nice low power MTL tank. Something like the Nautilus, Zenith, etc. Customers enjoy this device because of its extremely user friendly interface. Extremely easy to operate, but you are still able adjust your power level to manipulate the intensity of your hit. Most find this extremely valuable. Not always when starting out, but as they progress through their vape experience customization becomes a must. Basically, that means going for one of these right off the bat instead of a starter kit or all-in-one device could save you the hassle of wanting to upgrade to something else down the line. Just something to keep in mind.
The EZ Watt is a different kind of device that we weren’t seeing much of until after it released, then all the other big manufacturers caught on and realized, “hey.. this is something people want”. When I say different, I mean in the sense of pre-set power levels. The EZ Watt is an adjustable wattage kit, but has no screen. It uses three different power levels, each with a high and a low. So in turn, six total power levels. Each power level can be cycled between high and low by simply pressing the oval shaped button towards the bottom of the device. While cycling between the three power modes is done by holding the power button and the oval shaped button at the same time. The wattage level of each power level can actually be found on the bottom of the device, so you always know exactly what power you are using. No guessing needed. The EZ Watt also incorperates the T20-S Tank. One of our absolute favourite MTL tanks of the last year. Hassle free coil changing, perfect restriction for MTL airflow, and great flavour. For a full kit, the EZ Watt is never a bad decision.
Yep, another sub ohm tank. Don’t worry though, we only have two favourites. Sub tanks have taken a jump this year with the introduction of the mesh coil. We’ve talked about mesh a few times in the past so I’m not going to bore you with another speech on that. Lets just say mesh is fantastic and leave it at that. Remember how I explained the “mesh” concept in the Crown 4 Tank paragraph? Yeah well, FreeMax invented it. FreeMax is similar to how UWell was, only manufacturing tanks and focusing all their time into that one thing and one thing only. This led them to the idea of mesh, and well, they definetly succeeded. The FreeMax Mesh Pro uses four different types of mesh coils. Single Mesh (40W-70W), Dual Mesh (70W-90W), Triple Mesh (80W-110W) and Quad Mesh (80W-110W). Its extremely rare for a tank to have this kind of power range, nowadays most tanks will usually be high power OR low power. Not both. To top it all off, tank capcity is huge (5ml regular, 7ml with bubble glass), an easy top fill method and insane flavour. This tank checks on the boxes on our list.
Well that’s all we got. Our personal favourites and things we recommend most in store and online. Any of these are a great option, but there are tons more. Always look around before making a decsion, there’s so many different types of devices to choose from that you probably have a higher chance of finding one you like than not finding one at all.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us directly. We always love to help.
